In Japanese ‘temporary housing and shelter’ would usually be translated into a combination of words that simply indicate post-disaster, the quick erection of buildings, and emergency evacuation centres. However, the split/fountain and Whatever Press project explores wider concepts around this theme and questions what ‘temporary’, ‘housing’, and ’shelter’ mean for the world and for ourselves.
Temporary housing + shelter was made possible with generous support from the NZJEP Programme and Creative New Zealand.
